It began in Oaxaca, Mexico, where I studied with an incredible artist who explored subconscious archetypes through creature forms. That experience cracked something open in me. Since then, I’ve been mapping what I see in the quiet spaces of the mind… animal guides, hidden symbols, the tension between nature and the built world.
This piece is layered with meaning:
The deer, to me, is the human spirit…. sensitive, intuitive, trying to navigate modern life while staying connected to the wild.
The cat is the priestess… a quiet authority, both hunter and mystic.
The rabbit, playful and elusive.
And then there are the others… spectral, undefined….perhaps the ghosts of memory or instinct.
It’s a tangled timeline of survival, curiosity, and care. Of forging paths while tangled in the vines of something older and stranger than we know.
